As mentioned…I love decorating cookies.
I love love love it.
Sometimes, though, I get bored.
And I really want to do things that are a little unexpected.
I saw this at the store:
Well, geeze, I can surely make one of these…and for cheaper than $7.
This looks to be gingerbread cookies, so we can do that, right?
This is the same dough I used in We Ain’t Eatin’ It. I picked out 4 different sizes of star cookies…that copper one may not work, but we’ll try it.
I even got some help…
Super-Roller-Cutter-Outer-Man saves the day.
3 cut outs of each size…bake as directed.
Let them cool…of course.
This is royal icing. Nothing special…
I just piped dots around all the cookies, save one for the top…
Start with a big one…
Plop on some royal icing….
Place another big star on this one…slightly askew
Repeat with the final big star…
Now the next smaller size…all three…
And the next smaller size…
And finally, the wee ones…but only two…
The final small one can sit upright on top…
Cute, right?
I think the sugar cookie one was a bit more successful…would you agree?
I think the cookies are thicker, which makes it taller. And somehow neater…
You try one! See how easy?
These would be cute as place cards…for someone who has time to host a dinner party that would require place cards.
