One of my favorite things about Facebook is the connection with friends from my past.

Having lived all over the eastern side of the United States, my friends are kinda spread out.
Chicago, Ohio, NYC, New Jersey, Wisconsin, Cali, Oregon, Utah, Arkansas, Memphis, Boston, Charleston SC, ATL, DC…
And some who are kinda local, too.
I met Gary in undergrad.
Theatre major.
Biting sense of humor. Of course.

Gary lives kinda close – about an hour from me.  He’s a  cop.  Yay for cops!

Gary has been kind enough to follow my blog and the bakery…and left a subtle hint on my FB page:

It’s a recipe by 17 and Baking…and it’s pretty much brilliant.
Peanut butter balls squished between two pretzels, then dipped in chocolate.
Oh. Em. Gee. Right?

And, if you read closer, you will see that it got the attention of my friend Missy, who is spontaneously planning a Monkey Bread and Martini party.

Yeah, I know.  My friends are awesome.

I showed this to my husband.

My husband who eats peanut butter on his toast instead of butter.
My husband who inhales my peanut butter cookies.
My husband who buys me Reese’s peanut butter cups for every holiday then eats them all.

Me: Doesn’t this look awesome? I’m making this tomorrow, I think.
Matt: Oh. Yeah.
Me: What’s wrong?
Matt: Ohh…I’m not much on peanut butter, Amy. You know that.
Me: Oh, of course. How silly of me.
Matt: Is there still leftover caramel in the bakery?

Hey. Wait a tick.
I wonder if my Suddenly-Hating-Peanut-Butter spouse would dig this if I replaced the peanut butter ball with caramel?
Hey. I don’t care if he digs it or not because I’m totally making it.

Leftover caramels and some of those butter checkerboard pretzels. You can use the wrapped caramels from the store.  Or, you can make your own caramels, and I’m certain that you will want to use my recipe…found here.

Smoosh the caramel between to pretzels…And dip into melted chocolate…Rocket science, this ain’t.I had dark chocolate already melting for the bakery…so I picked that.  Milk chocolate, white chocolate…any would be good.

I dipped halfs and wholes:Completely good either way.

Randomly thrown onto a plate…And I’ll just have a bite to make sure they’re good enough for ya’ll…Yup.  They’re good enough.

And if Matt doesn’t like them…his loss.
