Hey, it’s October!
I was nearly floored today when I realized that this is October 3rd. Seriously, wasn’t it just Easter? Like, a few weeks ago?
When I was younger, I remember parents talking about “growing up so fast” and “can’t believe it’s already Christmas”, and I really thought they were insane.
Now I get it.
My husband and I were watching a science special a few months ago, it was talking about how global warming or something has made the earth’s axis tilt differently and that the earth is spinning quicker than it used to, therefore making time feel like it’s moving faster.
I’m not much into theories like that, but this is one that I am pretty much convinced is a proven theory. Also known as a FACT.
I told this story to the checkout person at the grocery store, she looked at me like I had grown an additional head. Clearly, this theory is not yet common knowledge. Or very popular.
Regardless, it’s October. It’s time for my uncles to get the combines started and the leaves to change and my mother and I to spend a small fortune on beautiful chrysanthemums that we will kill within three weeks of purchase.
And Halloween.
And I put them on a stick.
‘Cause that’s kinda my thing.
And if you look closely, you’ll see that I was hurrying to get these photographed and the icing is actually starting to drip off of the leaf.
The one on the left fell victim to my 5 year old.
“I wanna help you carry them, Mommy!” became “I’m sorry I accidentally stuck my finger in the cookie, Mommy!”
That’s okay, Mommy’ll fix it.

Too cute! On a stick and mini desserts. two trends in one, and it celebrates Halloween. Haha, that is food blog gold :p Great post!
