We have gathered today to remember an old friend.
A friend that was there for us, through thick and thin. A friend that offered his services for absolutely nothing in return.
We have gathered in remembrance of our dear friend, The Heat Sealer.
Heat Sealer met his demise while his owner attempted to seal cookies for shipment to New York City this morning. While Heat Sealer had been acting funny in previous uses, this ultimate end to his life was a bit unexpected and poorly timed.
Heat Sealer lived for two long years, serving the needs of a local bakery.
Heat Sealer maybe wasn’t the most popular appliance in the bakery – the Kitchen Aid Mixers seem to hog most of the spotlight…but Heat Sealer was always quiet on the shelf, and ready when needed.
Heat Sealer was quick to heat, quick to seal.
Heat Sealer favored heavy cellophane bags – made specifically for his sealing abilities.
It is impossible to guess the number of cookies for giveaways…
Or cookies for a cause…
that Heat Sealer sealed.
Before Heat Sealer, the bakery had to tie cookie bags with raffia…
…which, as you know, is sooo 2008.
And how can we expect cookies to stay fresh when the bag is just tied?
Heat Sealer was purchased on eBay for $25, and more-than paid for himself.
And although it is certain that a new Heat Sealer will be making his home in the bakery very soon (like 2-3 business days, so promised), it will be difficult to forget the first Heat Sealer that came into our lives. And bakery.
So with heavy hearts, we say goodbye to you, Heat Sealer.
Friend.
Confidant.
Sealer of Bags by using Heat.
Are. Eye. Pee.
