Joey is kicking it in Kindergarten.
I mean, this boy has it all figured out.
And he’s come a long way. Baby.
My once-stubborn boy now sits quietly and listens, follows directions…
He even knows the presidents! Well…up to Coolidge.
I credit his teacher for jerking a knot in his tail.
And this week, he’s the class Star of the Week.
Nothing to get too excited about: Everyone gets to be Star of the Week.
We made a huge poster with pictures of his family, favorite foods, pets…
He got to take in a pillow and toy for rest time.
He’s the teacher’s special helper…”Mommy! I got to turn the lights off today!”
Yesterday, he got to have a special guest come to class to read a story to the class…
Grandaddy stepped up and went to class to read Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus.
And he gets to bring in a special Star of the Week snack.
When I asked Joey what he wanted me to make for the special snack, I got this:
“I want a huge cake that shaped like a star that says, ‘Joey is Star of the Week’!”
We deflated our ego a bit, and I managed to talk him into some cupcakes.
Joey also requested chocolate and vanilla cupcakes. Not some of each. Chocolate and Vanilla in one.
This kid is a genius. Academically AND Culinarily.
Yeah, that’s totally not a real word.
“…with yellow stars and red sprinkles.”
Done and done.
